Speaker bio

Jesús Oliva is a Medical Doctor with Postgraduate Studies in Anesthesia by Universidad de Guadalajara México. He completed a Healthcare Leadership Fellowship at UCSF. Dr. Oliva practiced in various public and private hospitals in México. He has taught several health courses from middle school to university level in Mexico and the United States. From 2001-2007, he was the Curriculum Development, Coordinator, Co-author and Instructor of the Healthcare Interpreting Program at Mount San Antonio College. He was on the CHIA Board of Directors from 2006-2008. He has been a Language Consultant with SIERRA Language Health Training Center and a simultaneous interpreter for Global Health Institute. He teaches Medical Interpreting and Spanish for Health Professionals at University of California Riverside.
