Izabel E. T. de V. Souza, PhD, M.Ed., CMI-Spanish, (formerly Arocha) works as a global language access advocate and researcher. Dr. Souza is Former President and Executive Director of the International Medical Interpreters Association (IMIA), and served as Secretary General of The International Federation of Translators (FIT). Dr. Souza is an ASTM an ISO Expert US Committee delegate on their respective interpreting and translation standards. Her academic experience involved teaching interpreting and translation at Boston University, Cambridge College and Osaka University.
