The interpreter will :
- understand the most common types of anesthesia procedures
- understand the risks of anesthesia
- learn the most common terminology used in anesthesia
The interpreter will understand the reasons why some patients do not accept certain anesthetic procedures
Speaker bio: Jesús Oliva is a Medical Doctor with Postgraduate Studies in Anesthesia by Universidad de Guadalajara México; Healthcare Leadership Fellowship by UCSF.
Practiced in various public and private hospitals in México, he taught several health courses from Middle School to University Level in Mexico and in the U.S.
He was the Curriculum Development, Coordinator, Co-author and Instructor of the Healthcare Interpreting Program at Mt. SAC (2001-2007).

Language Consultant with SIERRA Language Health Training Center, simultaneous interpreter for Global Health Institute, CAMEL Conference for Loma Linda University Medical Center and teaches Medical Interpreting, and Spanish for Health Professionals at University of California Riverside.
