Welcome to the CHIA’s 2007-2008 Membership Directory.  To judge by the number of requests we received for copies of last year’s directory, we believe there is a strong need among interpreters, language agencies, employers, and trainers for a resource that will help members locate each other.

This year, CHIA is offering a couple new ways to stay in touch.  Our online Healthcare Interpreter Registry (at www.chia.ws) allows interpreters a chance to post their work availability, training and experience. Prospective employers can search the Registry by language, geography, and type of work opportunity. They can also learn about the various healthcare interpreter training programs offered in California.

In addition, CHIA this summer added a discussion forum to its website.  Post any question or comment you like – about interpreting, training, language-access policy, or CHIA – and see what happens!
