The California Endowment (TCE): Many thanks go to TCE for its generous support this year (2005-2006) in funding creation of a business plan for CHIA, development of a comprehensive Skills Summary and Registry of Interpreters for the website, and creation of a stand-alone presentation on CHIA’s California Standards for Healthcare Interpreters for presentation at Chapter meetings and other venues. The California Endowment is the state's largest health foundation and was established in May 1996. The Endowment has offices in Los Angeles, San Diego, Fresno, San Francisco and Sacramento, and has staff working throughout the state. Its mission is to expand access to affordable, quality health care for underserved individuals and communities, and to promote fundamental improvements in the health status of all Californians. Amgen Foundation: CHIA is grateful to the Amgen Foundation for supporting development of the Skills Summary and Registry of Interpreters, creation of additional Chapter trainings, and general operations. The Amgen Foundation aims to advance science education, improve the quality of care and access for patients, and support resources that create sound communities. Sidney Stern Memorial Trust: CHIA also has received a grant from Sidney Stern Memorial Trust to assist in programmatic and general support. The Sidney Stern Memorial Trust provides grants for higher education and to social service agencies serving youth and children, the handicapped and minorities. Molina Healthcare: CHIA also extends its thanks to Molina Healthcare, a managed healthcare company serving patients in California, Indiana, Michigan, New Mexico, Utah and Washington for its partnership and support for several CHIA programs and activities.
